Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to do to prepare for my first session?
You can print out the PDF health form to fill out ahead of time. We can then go over that together at the start of your session. I will assess your posture in standing and then in lying to determine where to start with treatment so having a sports/regular bra and/or loose fit shorts (not leggings or bike shorts) to change into or wear under your regular clothes is best.. The techniques require being able to sink into the tissues and applying gentle, but firm pressure with a prolonged stretch so it's best to NOT apply oils or lotions on your skin.
How often should I come for treatment?
When dealing with fascial restrictions it takes time and consistency to work through the patterns that have developed, especially if it's a chronic issue. Each person has their own unique pattern. Managing expectations and having realistic goals is important, as well as follow through with your "homework". The most common is weekly for 4-6 weeks initially.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance does not cover for massage therapy services.
Fees are due at time of service.
You can use your FSA or HSA to pay for services, if you have either.
